See the Northern Lights tonight – Saturday July 14

Northern lights at the Arctic Circle.

If you live in the Northern Hemisphere, you might be able to see the northern lights tonight because of a solar storm. The best location is Siberia, but the US might also see them, even down to the Mason-Dixon line.

To find a dark place to go, away from city lights, check out your area on this map.

For a cool video of the earth from above with a really cool view of the northern lights, check out this National Geographic page.

Update: We did not see anything last night, so hoping for clear skies to watch again tonight, 15 July.
