Threat of US Government Shutdown, 2011 Poll

From my point of view, the US Congress does not understand what the wishes of the general public.  There is expected to be a 1.3 trillion dollar deficit for this year, see an over view of the 2009 Budget and Deficit here.  In early March the Quinnipiac University poll found that 46 percent view a shutdown as a “good thing” while 44 percent oppose it because it would result in the loss of public services.  On 1 April the Rasmussen Reports shows that 57% prioritize deep spending cuts to avoid a government shutdown.  To see more details and access the poll questions see this article.  But the poll does not question the voters for all options.  Do they want deep spending cuts, do they want a government shutdown, do they want to avoid a government shutdown?  So please vote here:
